News from Glossop Golf Club: The weather is kinder to the ladies

For the second time in three weeks, Glossop’s men were forced to cancel their weekly Saturday Competition. On the day there were electrical storms in the area which caused a suspension to play about 8.45 am, before the Professional was forced to cancel the Competition at around 11am.

The Ladies had better luck when they played for the Moss Cup last Wednesday. The winner, by 5 shots, was Francesca Bougen who’s handicap has now been reduced to just three. Second place went to Patsy Wood.
In the team competitions Glossop’s men continued their run of good form in the Derbyshire and Cheshire league with wins for both the first and second teams, playing at home against Reddish Vale. Special mention for Junior Captain Alex McKown who won 8 up with 7 to play. The next match is away to Davenport.
