The trial of the recovery firm and driver of the truck towing a bus that crashed in the middle of Glossop in May 2014 will take place on January 11th next year. Michael Paul Bowcock is charged with using a truck with a defective breaking system and failing to properly secure the load. GM Recovery Ltd face similar charges. The defendants deny all the charges. Nobody was seriously injured in the 20th May 2014 incident in which a single decker bus detached from a tow truck in Glossop town centre, causing extensive damage to shopfronts at Jackson's Buildings. The trial is expected to last three days.
