Police appeal following assault at Hurricanes nightclub

Police investigating an assault in Glossop are appealing for witnesses to come forward. At around 1am on Sunday, August 9, a 56-year-old man was inside Hurricanes Nightclub in Glossop when he was punched in the face by another man, causing injury. The altercation continued outside onto Railway Street when groups from each side began arguing. A 48-year-old man was also assaulted and suffered cuts to the face. The offender was described as being around 20-years-old, with ginger hair and wearing a black short sleeved t-shirt with a slit in the middle. A 20-year-old man was arrested by officers at the time in connection with the incident and was later bailed pending further investigations.


Police are asking anyone who may be able to assist in their enquiries to contact them. Anyone with any information about the incident either in the club or out on the street is asked to contact PC Lisa Riley on 101, quoting crime number 33958/15.
