Glossop man guilty of manufacturing a firearm and conspiracy to blackmail

Michael Sierotko, aged 24, of Sunlaw Street Glossop was found guilty of manufacturing a firearm and conspiracy to blackmail and not guilty of attempted murder and conspiracy to kidnap at Manchester Crown Court. The court heard that Sierotko had followed instructions on a Youtube video to make a gun that was subsequently used to shoot a convicted drug dealer in the chest at Hagg Wood in Holmfirth after he had been kidnapped and told to hand over £100,000 or 2000g of cocaine in September 2013. Metal piping that matched the gun was recovered from Sierotko's parents house and a bookmark to the video was found on his phone.

His co-defendant, Antony Leonard of Hadfield was found not guilty of attempted murder, conspiracy to kidnap and blackmail. Sierotko will be sentenced on September 19th.
