Suspended prison sentence for man with imitation gun in Hadfield

Marc John Steele, aged 25, of Station Road, Hadfield, pleaded guilty to having an imitation firearm in a public place and was given a 24 week prison sentence suspended for one year. The court said that the offence was serious and that he had previous relevant similar convictions including possession of a knife and a racially aggravated public order offence. He was ordered to be under curfew for 20 weeks, have treatment for alcohol dependency and pay victim surcharge of £80 plus costs of £300 and a criminal court charge of £180.
