Justice from the Buxton beaks - August 2015a

Garry STAFFORD, aged 52, of Crossfield Grove, Marple Bridge, pleaded not guilty but was found guilty of driving at excess speed on the A57 Snake Pass road and obstructing a police constable in June 2015. He was fined £400, plus £620 costs and victim surcharge of £40 plus a criminal courts charge of £520. The court noted that a man in attendance refused to be identified and was ejected from the court when he started shouting.



Matthew Roy DOWNING aged 20, of Buxton Walk, Glossop pleaded guilty to using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause those persons to believe that immediate unlawful violence would be used against them by any person, or to provoke the immediate use of unlawful violence by them whereby those persons were likely to believe that such violence would be used, or it was likely that such violence would be provoked, in Gamesley on 23 April 2015. Contrary to section 4(1) and (4) of the Public Order Act 1986.  Fined £120.00 plus £85 costs and £20 victim surcharge.

Marcus Leonard WATSON, aged 43, of Market Street, Broadbottom pleaded guilty to failing to provide a urine specimen after driving in Charlesworth and was banned from driving for 9 months and ordered to complete 100 hours of unpaid work, plus victim surcharge, costs and criminal courts charge totalling £295.

Callum Oliver MILLIGAN, aged 19, from Brossscoft Village, Hadfield pleaded guilty to stealing £2177 cash from another person in Hadfield. Sentencing was adjourned pending reports.
